I’m thinking about reviving my old webcomics with this new blog. I tried the webcomic plugin and it was a failure.. perhaps it’s me that didn’t understand how the plugin should works.
Then I tried the famous comicpress. Again it was a failure.. this time invoking the internal server error 500 everytime I activate any of the theme. I had to delete the theme using ftp to gain admin access. After 2 times served with failure, I decide to postpone the idea until I fully understand what’s going on.
My friend Cain asked me about the software I used to write my Animax Awards script. I told him it was Final Draft. He wanted to tried the software but I suggested him Celtx instead.
Why? Simply because Celtx is free and open source. I don’t really know in what license the software is distributed but the important thing is it’s free!
I also realize that Celtx have the option to create storyboards and mixing much more materials in it. They called it Mater Catalogue. You can put your drawings, notes and suchs. Everything else is the same I guess. I didn’t have the time to compare Final Draft & Celtx.
I was curious how writers in Malaysia write their scripts. I searched the net and haven’t found any convincing / proper scripts in Malay Language. Do they simply not exist online or writers don’t like their script & ideas stolen.
I heard however that many people in the industry simply write their script in MS Word. Hmm how about that? Perhaps it’s easier to share and people are more familiar with it. How about the format then? Do they use any macros or something. Well I really wonder. I’ve asked for scripts sample many times before and Jambeso promise me to get Estet’s script in as soft copy. I’m still waiting actually.
Back to the topic, I was wondering if I should put them here online, bits by bits, posting them as they’re updated. Perhaps it’s a good way for me to push my scriptwriting skill. A comment or two could help too.

Setelah dekat setahun tak join member aku pergi makan laksa kat Lubuk Merbau. Selama ni aku asik sibuk je ngan kerja bila member aku ajak pegi. Ye la aku nak pegi sendiri takde kenderaan.
Laksa Lubuk ni memang la terkenal sangat di kalangan DieHard Laksa fan kat Kuala Kangsar ni. Kalau ada tempat lain yang best tu mungkin kat area Sayong la kot, Laksa Telur Goreng (Laksa Blues aka Laksa Deris).
Hari tu member aku Man Perodua ngan geng-geng Kembaranautica.com pergi makan kat sini jugak. Aku dengar makan ngan bungkus semua sampai RM 70. Perhh.. Banyak tu!
Aku sampai tadi ngan Ijat Witherspoon. Dia pun dah lama tak lepak katanya. Elok je sampai ket simpang masuk ke kedai laksa tu aku call Jambeso. Rumah dia kat area situ je.
Lepak lepak tak lama Jambeso sampai. Siap bawak kamera SLR dia yang baru beli tu. Dia snap jugak 2-3 gambar tadi.
Lepas habis kena laksa + telur rebus ngan ais kacang sembang plak pasal filem sambil menyedut udara asap rokok yang syahdu.. hehehehe. Aku mintak Jambeso tanya kat Mamat Khalid pasal term Deus Ex Machina.
Saja saja nak tanya. Hari tu aku cerita pasal Monty Phyton, dan tanya adakah Mamat Khalid ada influence konsep & stail dari team Monty Phyton? Balik KL terus dia tanya dan Mamat Khalid kata memang pun Monty Phyton memberi pengaruh yang besar dalam karya-karya beliau, terutamanya dari pengarah Terry Gilliam(Brazil, Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas, Brother Grimm dll).
Jambeso kena gerak dulu sebab ada saudara dia datang rumah. Lepas tu aku sembang ngan Ijat pasal filem jepun terutamanya genre “Seishun Eiga”, filem Yoru no Pinunikku & Linda Linda Linda. Hmm Lain masa aku tulis pasal filem Linda x3 dan Yoru no Pikunikku
Tak lama lepas tu aku ngan Ijat pun belah jugak. Tapi kali ni kami ikut jalan lain. Saja saja nak jenguk lokasi telemovie Tain. Tain yang original bukan siri TV tu. Pusing pusing cari last last keluar kat jalan Tanah Merah, Geliong terus lalu ikut Beluru.
I’ve been secretly writing scripts last year to enter the Animax Script Award. It didn’t get selected BTW.
Tun has been asking me about writing scripts since I showed her my script once, for quick editing. When she actually phone me last night I tought that I migh consider publishing my script on the internet.
I found 3 service that allow me to write and publish the script to public for free. They’re;
1. Zhura.com
2. Scripped.com
3. Celtx.com
I tried scripped.com and didn’t really impressed. I chose Celtx since they have an actual offline scriptwriting Open Source Software which is quite impressive. I wrote my script using Final Draft before and the software ain’t exactly free.
After importing the script to Celtx I found the format to be messy and needed some editing. Impessed by the upload to community features and quickly register as a member.
